Sun shone on Concours d´Élégance in Schlosspark Weinheim.
More than 10.000 lucky spectators visited 90 sports and race cars of exceptional quality or history.
Highlights were the Aston Martin DB5 from Atelier des Coteaux/ Reims, a 718 Formula 2 Porsche from the Porsche Museum, an Alfa 6C 1750 from collector Bernhard Hübel as well as a Mercedes SSK, and e.g. the winner in the race car category, a Talbot Lago T26.
Each car should be mentioned here, like the fantastic Lagonda V12 Le Mans, a unique Apal Coupé, and so many more.
Seven categories would each find only one winner. But in the end everyone was a winner at this beautiful day in the Rhine Valley at Weinheim.
Star guests were Volker Weidler, Leopold Prince of Bavaria and also the son of Graf von Berckheim. His father gave the event its name - being a Porsche racer in the mid 50s at Le Mans, Carrera Panamericana and Targa Florio.
So the 750th birthday of the town Weinheim, and the 90th birthday of Graf von Berckheim as well as the 90th birthday of the Weinheim Automobil Club were celebrated in just the right way.
A Porsche 356 in front of the mausoleum of Berckheim in the english park was an honour from the sponsor Porsche Penske Mannheim to the family von Berckheim.
The event was unique and will most probably never ever happen again like this.
Lucky who whitnessed this great day for petrolheads.
